THE RECEIPT PROJECT
What happens before you pay?
We're a student team collecting real stories about how people buy and pay for things online.
WHAT WE ASK ABOUT
Think about the last time you bought something online from a seller you'd never used before — a pair of shoes, a concert ticket, something off Marketplace, a booking. That's where we start.
-
HOW YOU FOUND IT01
Where you first saw the thing.
-
HOW YOU DECIDED02
What happened between seeing it and paying.
-
WHAT CAME AFTER03
How it went once you'd paid.
There are no right answers. An ordinary purchase is just as useful to us as a memorable one.
IF YOU TAKE PART
-
SAY HI1
Two of us, a table, and a box of snacks.
-
TELL US ABOUT ONE PURCHASE2
Anything you bought or paid for online.
-
ABOUT FIVE MINUTES3
You can stop whenever you like.
-
TAKE A SNACK4
No prize draw, no sign-up, no catch.
RECORDING AND PRIVACY
We may ask whether you're comfortable with us recording the audio, so we get your words right rather than working from memory. We always ask first, and it's fine to say no.
We don't ask for your name during the conversation. If you leave contact details for a longer chat, we only use them to arrange a time. Everything is deleted at the end of semester.

TALK TO US FOR LONGER
We're doing a few twenty-minute conversations later this month. Leave your details and we'll find a time.
WHO WE ARE
We're postgraduate students at the University of Sydney Business School, doing this for a unit about how new ventures find a problem worth solving.
We're not selling anything and we don't have a product. We're talking to people first.
The Receipt Project is a student class project.
It is not an official University of Sydney campaign
and does not represent the University.
